The board of Chess Club Mol welcomes you!
On this page you can find a small introduction to our club and to this website. For all clarity, you can click on the words in green for more information. For now, this is the only page in English language, all others are in Dutch. Should anything still be unclear, do not hesitate to contact us.
In 2014 we restarted Chess Club Mol after 18 years. We are a member of both the Belgian Chess Federation and the Flemish and Antwerp League. Our clubhouse is located in Lokaal dienstencentrum in Ten Hove in the center of Mol.
We assemble here almost every Friday evening at 20h to play some chess among friends. If you want to be absolutely certain of our presence, we advise you to check the calendar.
We give chess-lessons on Fridays (18h30-19h30) to children from about 6 or 7 up to 15 years of age. On Sunday (10AM-12h) all youth players can join and play some chess in Ten Hove during youth-chess. Children who are not a member can take part for free up to three times, after which we expect them to become a member.
You can play some correspondance-chess on this website against one of our club members to taste the level of chess. You can also come by our clubhouse without any further obligation to meet us and play a live game of chess. After having soaked up the atmosphere a couple of times, you can decide for yourself whether or not you wish to become a clubmember. The perks of being a member are pretty extensive. Beside the Clubchampionship, you can take part in, among other things, the Interclub and the Zilveren Toren tournament. Everyone, young and old, man or woman, accomplished player or starting player, is very welcome in our club.
In May 2019 an extensive article about our club appeared in the newspaper Gazet Van Antwerpen (GVA) under the section Club-of-the-week, after we had seen our number of members being quintupled in a very short period of time.
Below you can already take a peek at a small movie to soak up the atmosphere of our club. We hope to meet you very soon!
